Why PNG
PNG is lossless: every pixel is kept exactly. Text, thin lines, charts and diagrams stay crisp at any zoom, where a JPG softens sharp edges and can add faint smudges around lettering. The trade-off is size: a PNG of a page is larger than a JPG of the same page.
- Choose PNG for pages of text, diagrams, charts, forms and screenshots.
- Choose JPG for pages that are mostly photographs, or when the file size matters more.
Resolution
- Normal, 150 dots per inch, for screens, slides, documentation and websites.
- High, 300 dots per inch, for printing or for zooming right in.
One page downloads as a single PNG; several come together in a zip.

Before you convert
The PDF opens in the editor first. Take out pages you do not need, crop the white margins so the picture is just the content, or redact anything that should not appear.
