Edit a scanned PDF
A scanned PDF is an image of a page, so most editors cannot change a word of it. PencoPDF reads the text, removes the original and restores the background behind it, leaving no sign of the edit.
Questions
- Will the edit be visible?
- In most cases, no. The original text is lifted out and the background rebuilt to match the surrounding page, including patterned paper, rather than covered with a white box.
- How accurate is the text recognition?
- Very good on a clean scan, less reliable on faint or skewed pages. Review the result before sending the document on.
- Which languages are supported?
- English only at present.
- Why can I edit only the first five pages?
- Text recognition runs on the first five pages of every document. Paying for that document covers the rest of its pages.
